I got a job as a loan officer that includes a base salary and free office space any advice? |
brand new to the business i start on Monday... does anyone have any advice they can give me as far as cold calling, closing deals making the best of my time and anything else that will help. They are going to train me but I want all the advice and skills I can get! Good luck. You're in a tough market right now. And "free" will end shortly if you can't produce. Look around the office and see who is a productive loan officer. See if you can shadow them, so you can learn from the best in the office. Do not rely on office leads. since you are the new kid on the block, the leads you receive are the ones that the other people gave up on. Get to know some real estate agent individually. You can also approach the Broker and tell him you would like to give a presentation at one of their morning meetings. As for making the best of your time, learn your rate sheets, and listen to all details in the paperwork. Make sure you can understand all the contingencies on the actual Purchase Contracts and the 1003's. Make sure you also ask your clients in advance for paperwork you know you will need in the near future. This will give you an opportunity for more successful loans that won't fall through because your Underwriter will not except what you have. get to know all the top producing real estate agents and |
