What is the genre of that music that they play on office spaces?

I am talking about the office kind of music that uses xylophones.

Technically it is supposed to be "easy listening" music but I've always called it "elevator music." Muzak is the name. Xylophones? Did someone do "Girl from Impanema" or something? (Sorry, flashback to The Blues Brothers.). If I were you, I'd bring in headphones and listen to music over the web to your PC (or bring in CDs or an iPod).

My office doesn't have any kind of Muzak, but I usually listen to talk radio on my PC. Local stations simulcast their local talk hosts (plus nationally-syndicated ones... Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity, Ingraham) over the Internet.

Probably Muzac. Horrible, wretchedly orchestrated, insturmental versions of pop-songs

Technically according to this web page its considered to be called "Art Music". But I would have called it elevator music.
