How to free up space on Windows partition?

I鈥檝e got XP Service Pack 1 installed on a 2.55 GB partition. Trouble is, it has walloped all the space there and still wants more. Currently only 53mb is left, and I need to install Oracle 9i. Can鈥檛 see the possibility of that happening under the circumstances. The most baffling thing is, I haven鈥檛 installed any software on that partition, not even Ms Office, and yet the space is gone. And no Virus either. I did a scan with NOD32.
Ok heres the breakdown of the contents of that partition:

FOLDERS:
Documents and Settings 359 mb (3 user accounts)
Recycled - 85 bytes
System Volume Information - 25.9kb
Windows 鈥? 1.22 GB
Program Files 鈥? 294 mb
Config.Msi -- empty

FILES:
Hiberfil 254mb
Pagefile 384mb

What can I do to free up space without formatting and installing the OS once again?

Compress the drive, though I would not like that option.

You really should not try to put xp on a partition that small....say 7-10Gigs minimum, MAYBE a 5gig.....

You can also:

TURN OFF HIBERNATION, then delete the file.

Reduce the System Restore space from 10% to say 5% of your disk.

Empty your recycle bin for sure....

Delete all Files and folders in:
(for every user account in 'Documents and Settings')
(must have 'show hidden files and folders' set in Folder Options)
(name of user acct--'Owner' is default\local settings\temp
\local settings\temporary internet files
also in
\windows\temp
\windows\prefetch

Remember to empty the bin when finnished....

use the Disc Defrag element. this should compact and free up space

try buying anew harddisk with more space

First, why did you only give yourself 2.55gb for XP? You need to save everything and start over and create a larger partition. I would say at least 10gb for your "C" partition. If you don't have the space, you need to buy a larger hard drive. Sorry for the bad news, but this was poor planning.
