IT manager office?

I was recently promoted to IT manager. I have been with my company for 5 years and have effectively climbed the corp. ladder. My CEO has approved me to get my own office in some new suite space we just opened up, but Im fearful that my VP of Ops (who is kind of my boss) will oppose me getting it. Now I know it should be obvious, the CEO has the final say, but unfortunately he is sometimes oblivious to things that go on in the company, and I am fearful he will let my VP talk him out of giving me my office.

Should this occur, what are some good reasons I can give them to pursuade them to let me move into the office. More specifically IT related reasons that they might not think of.

I know this is kind of a geralized question, but I just wanted to get some input before the (you know what) could hit the fan.

Thanks

well when they promoted you, obviously the VP of Ops put some good words about you to get promoted..so i cant see why VP wouldnt want you to have an office.

i work I.T at my company and we have a huge Ops office but then there is a smaller office within our OPs office for our Ops manager. what she does in there i dont know, but sometimes there are time for confidential meetings, conference calls etc that need to be done and you dont always want to have to book a meeting room for all these meetings etc. secondly, your a manager! all the managers in my company have their own office. are there managers in your company who have their own cubical rather then an office? if no then you have nothing to worry about
