How do I decorate an event planning office?


I am setting up space at home and in an off site office location.

You may want to have pictures on the wall illustrating events similar to what you can organize. These should be quite large min 20 x 20 hung so the middle is at eyesight level. To make the office look classy I would go with the "in now" horizon type stripes in a chocolate, pink, and a light green maybe. You can cheat and put striped wallpaper on horizontally. I would suggest you spend extra money on your decor as it will reflect very well on your business. Add that extra $50.00 worth of moulding it will payoff in the future. Organization will be a big item for your offices and may require some custom work if you have a family member that is handy. Ikea sells lots of items that are a light colored wood which would work. Somewhere to put your supply binders, and somewhere to put your product sample pictures for your clients. Get graph paper and figure out all the furniture layouts before they happen. Lighting is a really big deal, fluorescents will do nothing for your atmosphere you want to create in plus it will change the colors of items. See if you can save some money but inquiring at your local auctions about office furniture. I've seen $5,000 desk sets go for $250 at an auction. Most auctions now feature their items on the web before the day of the auction so it does not require much leg work. and on and on and on just too much envolved.

Use your imagination to decorate in a style that shows off your talents and gets your potential clients interested.
