Openoffice 1.5 space?

i just downloaded open office and i have to write a report with 1.5 space between the words, how do i do that on that program cuz i cant figure it out

but that puts 1.5 between the lines, i need it between the words i type

You might want to double check your instruction. 1.5 spacing between words would be abnormal. It would need to be done with kerning, and would produces a normal report that follow any typical report "rules".

Go to format / paragraph / spacing and set to 1.5 in the pull down list. It remains that way for all paragraphs unless changed for a specific one.

I don't believe OpenOffice will space between words in this way, nor have I ever used or heard of a word processor that will. You could select a space and use format->character->position->scale width = 150% to make a space character wider, but I do not know how to apply this to all spaces in the document without applying it to the characters, too. Doing one-at-a-time would, of course, be ridiculous. You might come up with a macro to search for the next space and apply the formatting, then apply the macro repeatedly. I cannot imagine why anyone would want to do this. Are you sure you understand the assignment correctly? If you find a reason and/or solution maybe you could post a follow-up to your question so we can see how and why.
