Office plant?

I work in a cube in the very center of my office building. I would like a plant to help make my desk space feel more comfortable, but I only have access to flourescent light. I have read that pathos is good, but I would like something unique or different--at least not the in the top three most common office plants. I can take it home regularly if needed. I don't want anything that flowers or that gets really tall. Any ideas?

A fiscus tree would work well in your office. It doesn't get too tall, has lovely leaves, is easy to take care of and does well in fluorescent lighting. It has a lovely look as the the tree stem is really 3 twisted or braided together.

i feel sorry for you

Try a rubber plant, that seem to do well.

Some sort of fern might survive in that environment. I'm lucky enough to have a well lit office and am growing chili peppers on my windowsill.

And the ficus ginseng mentioned above is really good looking too.

Try a Bamboo, it looks cool, it wont need any special care, fits almost anywhere, you can put it in a small vase with either that special gel they sell for bamboos or just water, it wont flower and i have plenty of those at home and one in my desk, trust me: if i dont kill a bamboo you can easily have one

Try hoya vine. It does flower, but not very often.
A venus flytrap or pitcher plant?
aloe vera
spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum)
jade plant
hens and chicks (Sempervivum tectorum)
Cactus and succulents
