How do I create a successful study space?

I need to have a good study space for school. My parents have given me a small office. It has a desk (4 drawers), a bookshelf (3 shelves, and the top), and a table. I also have a desk chair, and a bulletin board. So I was wondering how to keep myself organized for school. Also, if you can, tell me how to keep my backpack organized. And supply basics. Thanks,

It sounds like you have a good start. I hope you have a quiet area. Also, use one of your drawers as a file. I would keep papers, at least for the grading period, in the file. You never know when you might have to prove that you turned in an assignment. Make sure that you have a sufficient supply of pencils pens, etc. on hand. I would also make sure that you have scissors, glue, markers or colored pencils and poster board. You never know when you might have to do a project. And, if you are like a lot of kids, you might wait to the last minute. This way, you will at least have the materials on hand. I would also look into finding a used set of encyclopedias. I know we have the Internet and everything, but you might be able to get a cheap set at the Goodwill or from a school. Good luck. At least you are trying to help yourself.

It looks like your parents want you to be successful./

Make sure that you have sufficient light. Keep a supply of pencils, rulers . paper and pens in your desk. Do not listen to music, Do not have a telephone or bring your cell phone into the office. Use you bookshelves for your textbooks. Buy some folders.Use the bulletin board to post a calendar where you indicate when something is due.
