Microsoft Office Word. I'm not dumb but am computer challenged.?

I earned my Bachelors in Criminology in 1975, when the closest thing to a computer or word-prossessor was a standard smyth/corona typewriter. Recently, I took a two hour class in Basic Microsoft Office 2003. In the class, I recall a way to cenetr a short letter on a page which made it look very professional and not glaring evidence that it was very short in nature, with so much open space at the bottom. I seem to recall it was a simple click on an icon or at the very least, something I should remember but don't. I am really making an attempt to increase my computer knowledge but having recently been asked to provide someone with a written recommendation, after I finished, it was very positive in nature but did not look so great. Those of you with more knowledge in this area could be a great help to me and the young professional that asked for my recomendation in attaining a new job.

Try going to the "File" menu, choose "Page Setup," click on the "Layout" tab, then look for the "Page" section and select Center for "Vertical Alignment." This will put your letter on the center of the page. Hope this helps.
