I have a problem with Microsoft Office "Word."?

I have a problem with Microsoft Office "Word." Somehow something has changed its setting and every time I try to type something it puts periods after every space.

I have tried opening a new document, opening an old document, and even uninstalling and reinstalling the program, but it is still the same. This is obviously a feature that can be swiched off, but I don't know how. Can you help me?

You may have activated a feature in Word that allows you to display formatting marks. Please do the following.

1. Choose Tools, Options, View.
2. Look in the "Formatting Marks" section.
3. Verify whether there is a check mark next to "Spaces" or next to "All." If so, then this feature has been turned on. You can uncheck all the items here if you wish.

Please note that many Word users find it useful to see formatting marks such as spaces, tabs, paragraph marks, etc..

Another alternative is to leave these items selected, then from the main screen click on the icon to the left of the Zoom setting. It looks like a paragraph mark. This is called the "Show/Hide" button. Click the button one to turn the feature off or on.

its not period its a mark what is called paragraph end mark... u can switch it off from the formatting toolbar.. it looks like an inverted p.. just click it it should solve the problem

hi deer,
it may be for a changed .dot file(templates).
May be u have reinstalled only word and the changed
template is still existing as it was.Try reinstalling entire office package.
If not solved check other possible causes such as virus etc.
