Tips to Master MS office?

well am a student very fond of computers and internet but not very fond of the technical aspects of it...

my problem is despite of having a PC and printer at home i have to rush to computer parlours to prepare any project reports,powerpoint presentations or other assignments....

i have to pay money for what i could do for free at home just b'coz of my vulnerability in MS office usage..

general usage of MS Word is fine for me...but when it comes to fine tunning the stuff i prepare i start cramping...

Inserting of tables at right places,proper spacing and formatting are a few areas i find hard dealing with..... same is the case while preparing powerpoint presentations or using MS Excel for graphs etc..

I hope i am clear with my question and i would sincerely appreciate if someone can suggest me a way to get rid of this trouble.....

I might have answered this before and you might not have liked my answer -- but you will not learn MS Office without some effort -- it is not learned through osmosis.

I've been working on computers for 15 years and have learned that I will not live long enough to call myself a master. I am, however, competitive and want to be the best in the office. To this end I have purchased many books, several on the same programs, finding that different authors instruct differently and offer different possibilities. I also took continuing ed courses in the evening.

You could begin with the "Made Easy" series which contain instructions with good graphics, then go on to the "Dummies" series which contain more text than graphics, then on to the more technical books.

I go to www.amazon.com and purchase used books. They are sold at low prices and all I have received so far have been in new condition.

It would be great if you could find a course near your home. I'm sure you would enjoy and profit from it.
