Can a business donate the use of an office rent free to a nonprofit and write any of it off? we're in MT.

We're hoping to move into a new office but the rent is more than we can afford, can the building owners allow us to use the space without rent and then use it as a tax write off as we're a non-profit? Anyone's thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Yes, absolutely, as long as you have anon profit number with the government.
Someone donated a beautiful building for 2 years rent free to one of our local colleges and got a huge tax break for it.
Check with H&R Block or some one so that you have something positive to present to the land lords, even if they just give you a substanl break in the rent would be another idea.
