N.Y.C. a hundred years from now.?

As the water level rises to twenty or thirty feet above current levels, it's conceivable that the entire area being rebuilt in lower Manhattan will have to rise to the level where the Twin Towers were at before their demise.

Are the builders and architects considering this now as they place that long steel thing up into the sky and name it "Freedom Tower"?

Will alll those fast vehicles running on fuel cells be spiraling up and down new roadways in the sky?

Will N.Y.C. find other revenues to sustain itself rather than exhorbitant tolls and parking meter fees?
And what about all those offices lost when the Towers came down? Will N.Y.C. require all that office space?

Will people be saying...OOH and AAH to the new stuff being built as I write, especially the memorial?

Will the memorial be at least twenty to thirty feet above ground? Or, will it eventually be covered with water?

Agree? Disagree?

Building that close to sea level shows questionable reasoning at best. I understand the need for the city to make a statment saying "We are not beaten", but I'm not too certain that enough effort was put into thought about the best way in which that statement should be made, or in the planning of the project itself.

At this point the money might be better spent on developing defensive stratagies to ensure NYC does not soon become a target of terrorists again in the future.

Would not, "....and now we are prepared." be a strong statement to place after "We are not beaten."?

100 years from now New York City will be a city fortified with a humongous wall with guards posted every 50 feet, much like the Berling Wall was.
Ellis and Liberty Island will be a makeshift air base to launch missiles, and fly aircraft at a moment's notice to destroy any enemy that even thinks about entering our airspace.
Yes there will be a memorial,a constant reminder that we need to beef up our defenses and tighten our borders even more .

policemen cAn put the water level down

global warming my foot planet is getting colder .

Its good if we know the future:
My opinion is that NYC will be good city, however the governments should something do to avoid the global warming, otherwise New York,or the city that never sleeps will be partially flooded.

a burned out ruin.
