How can people get away with this?

I work for a small company who rents office space from a serviced office building!! I have to have a rant im afraid the ladies toilets are discusting !! Ive told the bosses time and time again that they are gross!! By gross take this for example live insects eg flies, wasps, bees, spiders, and usually a handful of dead moths are dotted about everywhere....ewww today I sat on the toilet and just happened to look down and there was a huge live moth staring back at me!!

what would you all do?? I have already told my bosses they dont have to go in there as they are all men apart from myself and the secretary (she also thinks the toilets are discusting)

Its really really embarrasing when we have a female guest and she wants to use the loos I feel like hanging up a sign saying welcome to the bottany lab lol

If there is no janitor, I would clean it up myself. Bugs aren't that dirty, it's the other stuff you CAN'T see that worries me!

Is it just the women's restroom that is filthy? I would suggest your boss or whomever is in charge of dealing with the rental of the office space check the contract to determine if cleaning of the space is included. If it is, then a complaint is in order. If it is not, then someone will have to arrange for cleaning of the space, assuming, of course, that this is within budget for your business.
If it isn't, then perhaps you and your co-workers can establish some sort of game plan to keep the joint clean! I agree that having potential clients see this mess would be a real turn-off.

Unless you live in a REALLY small town, your local government (city hall) should have sanitation codes for all public buildings. Report your concerns to the appropriate officials (probably the sanitation department).

That's not acceptable-I would get in touch with the local health & safety office (you could probably do that anonymously)

Crikey! Insects? Your'e frikening me already. Talk to your shop steward, union or ACAS or HSE. The office of environmental health may assist also. I'm friked up the frike hole!

seems like it is up to your company (not the management company) to hire a private maid/janitor. most offices are required. seems like ur company is too cheap to afford this and so u must suffer with unsanitary conditions. speak to the boss and beg for someone to clean it at least once a week.

If I were you, I would have called humanitarian services a long time ago. I guess that might seem a bit harsh being that you might not want to cross your bosses and get them in trouble. So try this...buy a bunch of moths and bees from hopefully your local insect store and release them into the men`s bathroom when nobody`s looking. Make sure the windows are closed so they don`t get out. That way they`ll get a taste of their own medicine. Moreover, discretely check to see if anyone may be allergic to these insects prior to buying them. You don`t want to take this joke too far. Think of it...it`s one thing you can do w/out actually stepping on people麓s toes. And you`ll get a good kick out of it in the meantime. Remember, revenge is the second sweetest joy, next to getting...!

I would sweep up the insects - maybe I'm missing something but it doesn't sound disgusting to me.

get some bleach, soap, a broom, and rubber gloves and get a cleanin.

Gods, it sounds horrible, and definately beyond the health and safety at work people, which I would mention to your boss. Oh I have had to use some charming loos in the past, and gents loos can be fairly disgusting places,
But what can you do other than pee on the Managing Directors carpet to get anything done ?
Or perhaps crap in his potted plant whilst he is at lunch.

We had that at my last workplace, but the toilet paper was the cheapest of cheap and was just loose in a box and you were meant to just pick out the cleanest looking bit! Needless to say we didn't go in there often! I used to just run home and use that loo (I worked just round the corner from my parents house) if that isn't an option for you I don't suppose you have friendly neighbours? Or just hold it in!
Or, I guess you and the secretary can arrive one day with rubber gloves and aprons and a big feather duster and do it yourself? I can imagine feminists would be screaming at me, but it's what I'd do if I had to use that loo every day!

Have had the same problem, when working as manager for a leading retail company.

As a man, it can be embarrassing discussing these problems, but I was able to sort out the problems, and managed to ensure all was well.

To all male bosses out there, our ladies need clean toilets, and other services, The females on this site will know what I mean, and I got that sorted also.

Keep on at your boss, in a nice way, but remember, he may embarrassed with the subject as I was, but it can be solved.

use the gents, but then on second thoughts maybe not, its prob worse than the ladies!!!!

ask boss for 拢10 and buy sprys etc like you do at home spend 1 hr per week cleaning for self esteem in employers time

If a few indigenous insects that happen to infest your ladies room, more then likely due to your inability to shut off the light when you're done, is the worst of your problems you are truly blessed. At my job people try to stab and throw on me. Buy a bug zapper and complain when you have a legitimate gripe.
