Why won't my netgear router connect to the internet? |
I have connected the dsl modem to the routers "internet" port, powered off the modem and router so that they recognize each other, taken another cord and hooked it up between one of the ports and my computer- and have gone to Start, Run, typed in CMD and done all that jazz- but when I got to open my web browser to log into my modem and I type in 192.168.1.1 I get a messgae saying "cannot find server" I have internet when it is plugged directly into the computer from the modem (how i got here) but whne i go through my router to my computer it doesn't work. Why? please- anyone- I am about to pull an office space with this router- give me an open field and a baseball bat! Make sure your computer is configured for DHCP. |
