How much of electrical power (kWelectrical=>kWthermal) is transfered to heat? |
I'm referring to office space appliances (electrical RACKS, SERVERS, TELECOM units. I need the heat load of them (or SAR) for cooling references. I mean the transfer by Joule effect how much electrical goes to heat; some say 20% (if 1kWe, then 0.2kW goes to heat). All of the power supplied to the racks and other equipment is converted to heat except the actual power used to recharge backup battery systems. Assuming the backup batteries are kept fully charged, 100% of the power supplieded to your systems contributes to the heat load. A Kilowatt is 3414.4 BTU/hour. it depends on resistance of wire. |
