Is Mike Judge's Idiocracy movie racist?

Mike Judge, the creator King of the Hill, who also contributed to the movie Office Space and Beavis and Butthead, made a movie recently that bothers me called Idiocracy. It depicts a future where people are way dumbed down. The way he depicts this is very similar to the way black people act! Why wasn't there a greater outcry over this like over Don Imus or Michael Richards?

i saw that movie...I don't believe that it is racist. I think that it Mike Judge is known for not pandering to political correctness (PC).

In your question you do generalize "the way black people act" though. Are you racist? or would you say that maybe it is just PC that makes people eager to shout racism.

I never heard of it. Must of been a flop a the box office.

It was kind of racist, but it wasn't meant to be. But remember, the smartest woman in the film was black. Unfortunately, many blacks and latinos think it's cool to talk "ghetto", and if they encounter one of their own who speaks in full sentences, he is criticized for "trying to act white".
But I sense that you weren't paying too much attention to the movie. There are points in Idiocracy that are vaguely similar to our time, and it's kind of disturbing:
*people blindly repeat corporate lingo without knowing what the fcuk they mean
*to many young people, those who speak politely & in full sentences, listen to classical music, or a guy who dislikes sports is labeled "gay"
*people flock to the movie theaters to watch films with absolutely ridiculous plots
*citizens follow politicians who talk like truck drivers, believing them to be more down to earth, but smart, articulate politicians are seen as "snobs" or "out of touch"
