How do I find out about county-owned buildings?

i saw this old building downtown (about 8 floors) and it has been totally abandoned for a while now. there is nobody at all in the place. from what i can remember it was office space originally. i looked up who owned it through the county's tax assessment site and it says "housing rehabilitation corp". Is this a county agency? i typed it into google and it seems like a lot of counties have similar agencies. if it is and the county owns it, does that mean that it is probably for sale? who would i even talk to about this? the building has been abandoned for several years now, there is no sign up life in the place and no "for sale" sign anywhere. so what are they doing with the place? they gotta be waiting for someone to buy it, right?

Go back to the assessment site and look on the property card to see who the tax bill is sent to, if you get an address that way you can contact them then. If not, check on the county website under departments, if you don't see housing rehab, try the county clerk. Another place to try is State owned properties through the state government website.
