Would this scare anyone? Am I crazy for doing this?

29 y/o...Just quit my job of over 10 years. Just walked out and never went back. It was literally like the movie "Office Space" except that it was retail. I've always been the model employee other than the past year or so. I did everything I could short of breaking the law to at least get reprimanded, but to no avail. I was insubordinate, late, even didn't show up a few times, and I was a total a-hole to the whole management staff. No one ever said a word to me. Even got a awesome annual eval. WTF? This job was literally making me feel old at 29, and the pay definitely wasn't worth the stress. The stress all caused by other people being lazy and not doing their jobs correctly I might add. So I quit, and in the fall I plan on going back to school after more than 10 years. I feel a little apprehension at the thought of going back to school, but at the same time I feel completely liberated. Am I crazy?

Good for you you had the balls to do what you did. Too many people follow like frickin" pigs to slaughter.Don't be aprehensive about school you will do just fine and it will all fall into place for you.The most successful people are those who change occupations atleast once in their life.Start doing something you enjoy for a living,no fun being stuck in a rut.Good luck to you.

sometimes you just have to change your life and do something new before you go crazy. you saved yourself dont look back and keep moving. btw good job most dont have the balls to do that.

You may very well be crazy, but at least you're crazy enough to make it count for something.

not to be mean but my answer is yeas and no some of it is a little crazy but some is not crazy but think what u think no one can give u the correct answer but you not your family or friends or girlfriend but you can decide that by yourself

no, u rdef not crazy. some people refer 2 this as an early midlife crisis. but i reckon that it is the drone of society today that causes the unneeded stress that we hav and people react differently to it. maybe some committ suicide, murder or crime, or even some like u, different people handle this situation differntly.

no my dear i dont think u r crazy, it was the time for a change and i guess your study bug just matured and bit you.. soooo it is your time even though i think (not necessarily what u want to hear but it is only what "I" think) you should have quit in a different way, like write a resignation letter etc.. but it is only what i think...i mean i was not feeling what you were dealing with so..good luck my friend.

Do you think you are crazy? Crazy behavior is perception measured against constraints placed on our behavior by the society we live in.

An active of rebellion in one situation may be awarded with a metal for courage whereas the very same act by the same person in a slightly different time and/or setting may warrant punishment.

As long as you are not harming anyone else and not intentionally ruining your own life, what you describe is just wanting out of a rut before you do become potentially dangerous or just haphazardly foolish.

Continuing your education is never a waste or bad choice. Knowledge is power, the power to make sound decisions based on learned facts. My mom returned to college for a second degree when she was 52 years old and worked as a teacher until she retired at 70 years old. I am also returning to college for a second degree, for a change of pace from the profession I have been doing for 20 years.

I find studying easier now than ever before: past experience helps me understand new ideas and I retain information more quickly. I also know what I want to do better than when I was in my twenties.

Life is meant to be an adventure that each of us live to our fullest ability. If you truly believe in your heart that you will accomplish your goals鈥?one way or another it will happen. If you truly believe you are going to fail then that too will happen. The adventures we live are simply through the goals we pick and how persistent we are in seeing each goal through to the end.

The label 鈥渃razy鈥?is your choice in this instance- you have not described being out of touch with reality. You did describe just someone rebelling and seeing what they can get away with because you are not happy with your life at this time.

I am happy for you that you know that there is something better out there for you and you decided to take that step and find it. Crazy your not my friend. The day you started acting out at your job is the day you knew " this is just not for me" Believe it or not you did something that alot of people wish they could do and even dream about it. Be proud of yourself. By the way--School? I went back to school after a long time and I was really nervous. At first my brain hurt because of the waking up after so long but you know I was so proud of myself and it felt so wonderful to learn and get more educated.
