Extreme decorating ideas for an office cubicle??

I started a new position today. (Yeaaaaaa me!) I am looking for some decorating tips and ideas. My style is very much like Pier One or World Market. Any suggestions on how I can make my area more inviting? It isn't particularly large and I am not one to like clutter. Also, my walls are very short. How can I make the most of what little space I have?

If I were you, I would go with a minimal, symmetrical style using warm tones like brown and orange.

And there's all kinds of stuff to put in a cubicle, even a small one :) Posters, vases, temp. wallpaper, lamps, etc...

And if you like World Market, they have stuff like masks and small statues/figurine sized statues that you can decorate your desk with, etc..

Good luck! :) Congrats on the new job.

1] get containers that match - a pen/pencil cup/vase, matching tray for papers, a covered box for stapler, scissors; a round box for pushpins, staples; etc. Try an exotic print, bamboo, or brass or bronze.
2] line inside walls with a pretty print fabric or wrapping paper - staple in place. Then use a pushpin to hang up necessary papers.
3] measure floor space - get a small oriental rug [ cover desk chair area with plastic for rolling ease ]
4] a vase with a single fresh flower every monday shows optimism and attention to detail.
5] get a pretty pillow for your desk chair, for working long hours
6] get one collage of photoes, or double framed photos of loved ones, or something inspirational.

Yea you! Assume you're under flourescent lighting which plants love. Hang some planters with one-piece drain trays on your short walls and take soil and bedding plants for them. Brightly-colored placemats can be stapled to the walls for color, in front of which you could hang little sets of wall decor in your style (masks/miniature mirrors, etc.) You could swag a fish net between the entrance and the corner to throw your scarf and hat and gloves in for winter. And add a friendlier little lamp on your surface space for a homier feel.

Get a large-scale photograph (poster or calendar picture) with sweeping views into a gorgeous landscape, to hang on the wall in front of you. This will expand your cubicle visually, and lift your spirits every time you lift your eyes.

Alternatively, take a picture of a river flowing towards you, or a waterfall. It can help you keep inspired.

If possible, cover the walls of your cubicle with fabric (or paper, but fabric looks better) in a favorite color that helps you concentrate and makes you feel good. Don't go for a pattern, as it will visually clutter up the space.

Keep the rest of your furnishings simple and low-key but really beautiful and fun to use. Make sure you have a daylight quality desk lamp, particularly in winter.
