Question about Windows XP Pro - Disk space.?

I want to install Windows XP Pro in a separate partition. How big or small should that partition be(for the OS only)? The other partitions I intend to use to store media and personal files. i.e. In case my OS gets corrupted somehow, someday, I can just reformat that partition that has the OS.

Also, I intend to install programs like MS Office, messengers, Skype, media players, converters(encoders, decoders) and codecs, Nero, games, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Firefox and such. Basically I'm using the PC to do everything. What should the partition size for the OS be then?

Please don't just give me a link to the Microsoft Windows XP Pro support page. I've checked it myself already and the specs are intended for the minimum of systems really. The ones which don't involve photo and video editing, web-designing and playing games even. I mean, c'mon.. 128MB of RAM? Bwahaha.

So I want answers based on your own experience. Preferably people who's got similar purposes for their system as myself. How much HD space do you use for your OS partition? Thanks.

u'll have to check if it's possible to install 2 xp in 1 harddisk

I am not sure about this, but I heard that only one xp can be installed on one machine, in case u have only one serial bluh bluh bluh......

if we forget the above problem, my answer would be 4-5 G at least

BUT, u have to remember u must store what u want to store on other logical drive, not the one u installed xp on
it is because, even if u switch off "system restore", the update patch of xp and many program WILL eat you much space
(e.g. Firefox, don't ever think it won't cost you any space, it will
especially when u r out of space and u want to view youtube, then u will surely regret u haven't left enough space when u install)

so, a better answer would be 10-12G
in case u r not tight on harddisk space
and pls still remember, don't save your data on the drive u installed xp on
it's a great headache when u r out of space and u have to find these small pieces of files on many many different folders

and pls pls pls understand, a software may not cost u much space at first

BUT THE UPDATES AND SERVICE PACKS DOES!!!!
e.g. xp sp2 will take u almost 1G space

10GB should handle the OS and any add on programs. The OS with all updates takes about 1.8GB.

os only and system driver will consume about 15GB i think its much better to make it 50GB minimum if you want to install another software
