I have somehow managed to lose my whole microsoft xp office suite ,and cannot find it . I need it please help!

I may have accidently deleted it trying to make more more space.And I even have the original Dell disk but my computer says its not authenticated !Could this be anything to do with upgrading to service pack 2? please help!

Did you delete the folder or just the icons. You can go to start then run and type winword hit ok and if you only deleted the icon Word will start. If you have deleted the folder, I would find a program online called aida32 and run it. It will not reload any software but it will give you your keycode for both windows and office in the software section. Once you have that you can reload the software from the original office CDs.

If you can't find it get Openoffice.org. Its an opensource.org. Its a free office suite that acts just like office xp but its free and better.

Try using System Restore. Unfortunately, unless you know when you "lost" it, this may be of no use. You can check the calendar of restore points and see if one says something like "uninstalled microsoft xp office suite".
Beware though, that if you're able to use System Restore that anything you installed after the restore point will be lost and that you'll have to reinstall it/them.

I don't think upgrading to service pack 2 would cause you to lose it, but anything's possible.

If you need to use an office suite, and the brand doesn't matter, you can download OpenOffice. It's free and it works well for me although I mainly use Wordperfect. It can open documents made with Microsoft products. It's made by Sun Microsystems (the company that makes Java). Their proprietary version StarOffice is based on it.
