Help with microsoft word - word and line spacing?

i don't know why it's being stupid.... it used to be fine. but yeah - when i'm typing now (ms office 2003, on windows vista), the space between each word is always a full space instead of a half space. i unchecked "allow latin text to wrap in the middle of a word" as help told me to, but that only changes the selected text, and when i keep typing, it goes back to full spaces.

and for line spacing, for some reason even when i click single space, the spacing is more like 1.2-ish. when i go to double or triple, it gets larger than the usual double or triple.

i don't know whyyy or how to fix it... D: help!

Try this: click Format then Paragraph.
On the Indents and Spaceing tab in Spacing.
Set Before and After to 0 then set Line spacing to single.
The Preview Box gives you an idea of what it will look like
