I have a serious problem with the parking at my apartment complex! Any advice?

The parking at my apartment complex isn't exactly the best in the world and desperately needs to be updated. I drive a pick-up truck and have some serious issues when it comes to trying to manuver into these itty-bitty spaces.

Unfortunately, there are three people in particular who live in my building who apparently think they can park where and how ever they want. One person in a Honda thinks the spaces are at an angle (the spaces are totally straight), one person in a Neon thinks there aren't any lines to designate the space at all and is constantly parking her car waaaay over the lines (she once had her car stradling one of the lines taking up two spaces), and - here's my favorite - one person in a Pontiac who uses the end of the parking lot, which is supposed to be used as an area for people to back up, as a parking space (since I'm usually the first one in the parking lot after work, I park at the end of the lot only to come out in the morning to Mr. Pontiac).

I've talked to the people in the office about this problem and they've sent out a notice, but the problem persists. Any ideas?

I'd also like to add that I have a touch of OCD when it comes to parking. I've been known to back up over and over again just to be sure I'm perfectly in the lines, LOL! (This drives my friends CRAZY!)

What I have done before with the "too close or over the line" parkers is to park really close to them, so they cannot get in on the driver's side. Then they have to get in on the passenger side and it amuses me greatly. Yes, I can be immature when it comes to people acting like they are the only ones in the world.

If there are parkers in spots that aren't spots, tell the manager. People tend to be rude and do as they wish and they need to be taken down a notch. There are people that park in the mailbox only spots and stay there for days and it drives me nuts! One day I'm gonna call the city and report them as abandoned!

Go back to the office and talk directly to the Apartment Manager
and request some definite action be taken to correct
the parking problem. The manager is the responsible
person to fix the problem.

This is a problem only the office/mgr can fix and it should not be up to you to worry about. this is what they are there for, just make sure they do their jobs! Otherwise, find out who owns the complex and contact them. Also see if any other tenants have the same problem, there is always strength in numbers.

I live in an apartment complex and we are assigned two parking spaces. Whenever people park in my space, I always write a note each and EVERY time until they comply.

I wrote something like this: "Please DO NOT park in space #347 as it is reserved for me, my mother, and my fiance."

Another time I wrote: "Please DO NOT park in space #347. Because of your vehicle, we had to park in visitors."

Try not to use profanity when writing your notes and if they still don't comply... summon the police.

My next door neighbor in my complex parks directly over the line. We get 2 spaces each, and she doesn't want anyone to be near her, so she parks in the middle of hers, which is fine...doesn't affect me at all. One day I parked with my tire touching the line. She turned me in saying I was in her space! So now I always tell the landlord anything she does. She has not messed with me in a few weeks now. Maybe you should just keep bugging the heck out of the people in the office. They will eventually get the hint that you're not going to stop until they do something about it.

ok get in the office managers face and tell him u r taking to much time with this issue and u will have to take further actions if needed does he have a boss how big r these apts? r the a chain/ if he has a boss call his boss nowi would get mad enough to have my friend spend the nite and park behind him as u watch to make sure they dont toe u just do it long enough to hidd them off .lol

I have had the same issue. And get this, the parking lot is much bigger than the building! Some tenents seem hell bent on being asses just because.
I would have the manager explain that the parking rules are the same for everybody, and to please respect the rights of the other tenents. There should also be an area for guest parking. If the offenders do not feel the need to comply, then they they are free anytime to find other houseing arrangements.

i really like the park too close to them. also, if it is a constant irritant to go out and find Mr. Pontiac and you're the first one in the lot in the evening, I would do this:

#1 place a poliet note on Mr. Pontiac's car

#2 consider not parking near him, as it sonds that there is not assigned parking, but a free lot here.

#3 directly address Mr. Pontiac to the office manager and say why would someone do this over and over and not be towed. maybe also suggest that they mark this spot with paint : no parking, tow zone.

Talk to the manager.

I've tried talking to the tenants to no avail. If these people didn't have the decency to park their vehicles with respect to others, then they would just laugh at your face when you bring up the subject.

well you could get one of the surplus army sertified chevys that we get alot of in my part of Tn and just "bump" mr.poniac my freinds dad has one man that thing is fun to drive i had permission 2 drive it 2 by the way

I have had parking issues as well... I would first leave a note on the offenders car (my situation was a neighbors 'visitor' parking in the turnaround spot...right behind my driveway). If it continues to happen, complain to management again. Next, park either too close to thr drivers side or park so they can't get out. (We couldn't back out with that guy parked there, so we parked right behind him...hehe..ON his bumper...so we didn't have to back out. Funny thing is, then he couldn't leave either. If none one this works, I would ride the office managers a** until something gets done. Parking on the guys bumber took care of my problem. I know it seems immature, but you have to talk like a child when dealing with one sometimes. Good luck!

Don't drive a big gay *** Ford F-500,000,000 Triple Cab Super Gas Guzzler Edition, and you'll be alright.
