Broke up with girl after 3 weeks, she almost commited suicide?

I'm in China right now studying abroad. I met a girl (Chinese) at the bar and got her number. A few days later we met again and before I knew it I had a girlfriend. Before I knew it she became very serious. She has been staying with me for the past week or so.

I told her the truth, I wasn't ready for a relationship and this is not the right time.

This morning I told her that I wanted to break up, that she was great but I just wasn't ready and I needed time. At first it seemed like everything would be okay, but then things took a turn for the worse. I pretty much spent the whole day 9am - 9pm in suicide prevention.

She climbed out of the laundry room onto a flat space, I won't call it a balcony because it's just a flat area between hallways and a dead drop of 35 floors. I managed to get her back inside.

She wants to come back tomorrow but after this I think there's no going back at all. What do I do? She says without me there is no reason to live.

Although I never said I love you, and at the very most I said I liked her at the beginning, I did treat her well. I guess she's never met anyone like me before.

I feel sick to my stomach that I've caused her to feel genuine pain. She's really hurting and that kills me. If she committed suicide... I don't know if I could forgive myself.

I'm going to go early and catch her at the subway station. I'm going to tell her how I feel, that it was the truth that I just wasn't ready, even though she is a wonderful person, but after yesterday, I can't be with someone who would threaten to commit suicide. I could only love someone with the strength to stand on their own legs, to live their own life. I'll tell her if one day she finds her own strength, and still feels the way she feels, that we can talk (She has my contact info).

Is this alright? I don't know, but I guess it's the best I can do, because I can't return her love.

Some girlz get emotionally attached in a very short space of time, its not right on the girl to be honest, take it easy with her... get to know her better you never no she could be the one for you, if not then just seriously tell her that uns can be friends! its not easy being a girl sometimes when your in this situation its heartbreakin! =D x

Well why did you have her stay with you if you weren't serious? This is the problem,you mess with someones feelings for your own benefit so you can get what you want then reality sets in and you don't want to play the game anymore. By then the girl has strong feelings and you break their heart. Live and learn,don't play with someones feelings for your own benefit. You should have been straight up with her from the very beginning.

Geez, you're in an extremely tough situation. You just need to have a reasonable and long conversation about she not needing you, say there's always another guy for you, and you'll meet your "somebody" some day. And tell her it's not worth killing yourself. Hope I helped.

talk to her bout it.if it wont help,try to get help fromher friends and family but the thing is you dont know her yet that much.but you can find ways,i know you will.

Tell her that she lived before she met you. and you really dont want a girlfreind. its not he right time. tell her that your still a bit heart broken from the last girl you had. say you would enjoy being friends more than being together. Good Luck!

i think this girl is really weak. boy i think you;ve learned a lesson from this. you dont want another girl killing herself right? just tell her that life is too precious..... speeches.

you should help her through it, but don't go back, she's too needy she needs to be her own person, and you've only dated for a week or so!!!!!
