How do I deal with boring people?

how do I deal with boring and introverted people? like my spouse, my sisters, my friends/acquintances.
I always make an effort with them, I try to be outgoing, try to be interesting, try to resolve problems with them, I listen to them, I ask them questions, so I dont seem self centered, I give them space, etc. But these people don't make an effort with me. I am not asking them to change their personality but I just want them to meet me halfway.

Any tips or suggestions of how to deal with this?

I use to be shy and introverted before but I worked on it because I know if I don't change, then people wouldn't want to be around me.

I understand your concern and commend you for making an effort. I would also be offended by the negative advices here. Don't listen to them!

As for me, I also try to make an effort, even though it's not in my nature. Sometimes you have to do what's right even thought it's not in your nature. It wasn't my nature before to hug people when they come over or say hi to people across the hallways at work. But I do it because it feels right and I am more productive with my day.
I learned not to be selfish. If I want friends, I make an effort getting to know people, which is what you're doing already. You are a people person and they are not.
What I suggest is keep inviting them to do something from time to time, keep talking to them, and who knows? maybe these friends of yours will invite you to some party and you will strike up conversations with other people, build a rapport with them, and you will have more friends in your social network.

well, all these people that you have mentioned aside from your sisters are all those you have chosen to surround yourself with. take your husband out and have some adventures together - make some memories and then you will both have things to talk about to your friends and acquaintances. that is my suggestion.

A lot of these people will have one thing or two that they are passionate about. See if you can find out about that one thing and connect with them on it.

Oh yeah, they will never disclose this thing on their own (or they would have done it already) do a little research.

Please forgive me if this sounds rude but maybe the problem is you are too hyper. If your spouse, sisters (more than one sister) friends and acquaintances are all boring maybe the problem is you not them.

Again I apologize if that sounds harsh.

What's the common link in all of this? That's right, YOU. I think you are the boring person and you might still need to work on your own personality.

spread your wings & jump out of a plane! (make sure you let the parachute out!) You have made the effort to overcome what you are not happy with & changed it for the 'you' you want to be! Congratulations that takes big gutts & determination! Not everyone thinks about those things because their still struggling with those emotional past issues & can't find themselves to overcome it! You have decided to let go of the past & take a step forward in helping yourself to become stronger mentally & psyically! Its like you have been in your shell all this time with all the others around you not knowing what to do with yourself. Then one day you have woken up & decided that you don't want to feel miserable anymore, you want to be happy, free, explore life before it gets too late! I think a world trip would be huge for you! Something exillerating! Maybe it will be good for your spouse too! Time to live the life you are hear to explore! You are around 28/30 or 46ish?! If you feel the urge just do it or you will have to wait another 14 years for that kick up the bum & things will be a lot worse & deep & dark burried issues! Don't ignore that urge! You are entitled to be free! The small town is cramping your style!
