Is it depression?

Well, I've been feeling weird. Like I'm in a daze, sort of.

Even when we went to Florida and also for my 18th birthday, it felt as if I was just going through the motions. Everything feels weird, like it's a dream or something.

With me just floating through. I don't know what it is, but it's been happening this whole month.

I'm not sure how to really really explain, but it just feels like a daze to me. Everything does.

I could just sit, surrounded by people and just stare off into space and not say or feel anything. I can't really concentrate in conversations and it takes me awhile to respond.

I'm always nervous around people, especially new ones I meet. I start to tremble and get really nervous.

What's wrong with me?
Is it depression or something?

It's NOT the lovebug, I don't like anyone. I just have the feeling someone might say that. -_-

My friend turned and looked at me today and said.

"You look like you want to die."

And I was just staring at the ground.

If that helps any.

It could be depression. Depression makes you lose interest in things that you usually care about.

Symptoms of depression include:

Feeling hopeless
Crying spells for no apparent reason
Problems sleeping
Trouble focusing or concentrating
Difficulty making decisions
Unintentional weight gain or loss
Irritability
Restlessness
Being easily annoyed
Feeling fatigued or weak
Feeling worthless
Loss of interest in sex
Thoughts of suicide or suicidal behavior
unexplained physical problems

Unless you experienced something traumatic this month that might have caused you to go into shock and or lose touch with your reality...and or you are not feeling well (something physically wrong with you)...I don't really think there is nothing wrong with you....at your age it is normal to feel odd at times because your body is going through a multitude of changes not to mention the realization that the rest of your life is ahead of you....all those physiological changes coupled with the anticipation of personal changes in your life, will sometimes make you feel out of touch, unsure of yourself, uncertain...you claim that this started about a month ago, did the feeling of being nervous around others also start about a month ago?....I would speak to your parents and or a family member you trust about what you are feeling...you might also want to go and see your family physician in the event your have an ear infection (sometimes inner ear infection can cause imbalances in the body) and explain to him what you have been feeling..I wish you luck and try to think positive, I am certain what you are experiencing is temporary...
