Best way to deal with a possessive girlfriend?

I met this girl about two months ago. She phones me at work and college expecting me to spend most of my spare time with her. I been with her much of the weekend, then I get a call this morning asking me to go to hers later and stay the night.

I don't mean to sound selfish but I need some space. I'm the sort of bloke that speaks plainly but in her case I don't want to hurt her feeling because I do like her a lot. I just wished she was more independant, and gave space.

Any ideas how best to deal with the situation without hurting her feelings?

There is no way of dealing with a possessive person. Any space you try to create for yourself will be interpreted by them as you trying to cheat or betray them. This is because their possessive nature stems from a lack of self-esteem. They must fix that before they are capable of a mature, trusting relationship.

Find someone secure enough in herself to let you be *you*.

Just tell her the truth: You want someone to have sex with when you feel like it and you wish to be left alone the rest of the time.

That will probably work.

i dont think she is the right person for you even if you are really attracted to her, you cannot change the way she is and she cannot change you. you are not selfish, you need your space and maybe a more relax and laid back person would suit you much better.
