How can I get Americas Army to run smoothly?

I recently bought a laptop. It has 2 x 1.60 Ghz Pentium Dual Core processors. 120GB of free space. 1GB of ram. Built in 3-D graphics card with 128 mb of memory. I also have directx 9.0c. I am running windows XP.

Is there any reason why the game runs so slowly? Becuase I thought I met all the system requirements - http://manual.americasarmy.com/index.php...

get the newest graphic drivers, get another gb of ram, turn down some of the settings.

by the way, that game is made by the u.s. government, so i wouldnt put it past them to just write really inefficient code. its like microsofts flight simulator. it displays graphics that a dreamcast should be able to effortlessly run, but there is so much inept spaghetti code that it barely runs even on a monster of a computer.

You could try turning down the graphics settings in the game, it is most likely to run slowly due to your graphics card.
