I am 22, & live @ home while going to school. How do I get my parents to quit calling my friends to ask...?

them questions about how they are, what college they SHOULD go to instad of the one they picked, their relationships, even about me, etc...

They don't really know my parents (I mean they have met briefly).

I have asked my parents not to do it, when they ask if I mind. They go behind my back and do it anyway (even going so far as to ask my friends to swear not to tell me, but being my friends, they do).

Example, one of my female friend's boyfriend had to get pins in his knee (car accident). I have talked to her on the phone, but I know she is busy helping him & interviewing to get a new job. I thought I'd give her some space & not take up her time. I've sent a few emails recently, but no calls or visits. So my parents called her and then also asked if she could come pick up a desk this week!

How do I get my parents to respect my wishes and boundries?

I can't afford to move out right now, sadly. Plus I can't drive (I never learned because of health reasons that are pretty much under control now).

My friend's wouldn't hang up on my parents. MY friends are too nice...er..naive to do that.

I don't know how they got the numbers, bleh, they always manage to find out whatever they want to. At least they don't tap the phone and lie about it anymore (or they've upgrade to a better bug).

Bleh, who am I kidding, there are no boundries to them.

im 22 and i cant afford to move out either. i am in a rut when it comes to finding a job but i have goals to move out in aug which i am not sure if that will happen. my mom would call and ask my best friend when was i coming home. u have got to be kidding? when i was like 19-20, my bf, me, and a guy we met off of myspace went to a bar and my mom called to tell me my dad is here i was like so what?

someone told me to tell my mom how i feel about personal space, haha that wouldnt happen because that ends up in a yelling match all the time and my feelings dont mean **** to her anyway. i dont have caller id on my celly, so i cant tell who's calling.

if i were u, id try finding a good flexible job that pays really well then u can move out. right now, the way with the economy is **** is getting way to expensive but if ur parents are buggin u that bad then i would move out asap.

First off, you're 22. You're a grown up now. Move the hell out.

Secondly, how do your parents even have the numbers to your friends? You should have your own phone, and they should not have access to it or the numbers.

Finally, tell your parents in no uncertain terms that they are stepping on your personal space. Remind them of when they were young and ask them how they would have felt about their parents doing stuff like that.

Instruct your friends to hang up on your parents if they call.
