Space Mountain (WDW) for a 4 year old?

is 4 too young to go on space moutain if a 4 year-old meets the height requirements ?

It might be a bit scary for a 4 year-old. I've had my 4 year-old on Big Thunder Mountain and he likes that, although he's even a little scared of that one. He loves Splash Mountain. The issues we've had with Space Mountain are that it's dark (he does not like the dark) and the height requirement is 48". He's only 44" and he's off the charts for a 4 year-old, so this may be a limiting factor for you, unless your 4 year-old is close to 5 or over 48" tall.

Hope you have fun!

I wouldn't recommend it but if the kid is not scared and the height is okay, it should be a thrilling but fun experience for the kid~!

You know your own child best, so go with your gut. Keep in mind that the ride is fast, in the dark, and you don't really feel strapped in. Also, you ride by yourself, not side-by-side. Therefore, I would say not to take your 4-yr-old on that ride! Wait until they're six or seven.

That depends on the 4 year-old. Honestly, it's not that scary if you're not afraid of the dark or going too fast. If your child is afraid of the dark, I would recommend to skip this ride. Also it's typically a long wait, so you might want to consider that a child that young isn't going to want to wait two hours in line to ride something they might hate. If your child really wants to ride it, then go ahead. If they knows nothing about it, then stick with Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain rides and try Space Mountain when they're a little older.

Depends. Try the Barnstormer over in Toontown first. If your child handles it with no problem, try Big Thunder Mountain. I think Space Mountain can be the scariest for kids this young because it is so dark. If he handles the other two, ask him if he wants to ride another one just like them but in the dark with stars all around him. He'll probably be fine.

I took my five year old this year and she loved it. I say try it once. If he likes it, continue. If not, ask him to puke not on you.

The only problem I see with the 4 year old riding Space Mountain is that the ride is in the dark. The ride itself is not too intense, but the fact that it is in the dark, makes it seem like it is. If the 4 year old likes other roller coater style rides, or heck, even rides like Snow White (which is mostly in the dark and has scary images as far as kiddy rides go) than he may be ok. Try it, you'll never know til you try. After the ride, if the child is screaming outa his mind, you know he doesnt like it.

A friend of mine just go back from Disneyland and took his 4-yr old on the Space Mountain at that park.... he is a daredevil anyway.... and loved it.... although he didn't like the dark. If your kid doesn't have any problem with it being dark... I'd say go for it... Disney wouldn't put the height requirement so low if they thought it was dangerous for kids or they would put an age requirement on it too.

Depends on the kid.

Has he been on a roller coaster before? If not, this is not likely the best "starter" coaster. Relatively speaking, it's actually a slow coaster. But the darkness makes it worse.

Is the kid afraid of the dark? If so, then avoid this.

If the kid has no fear of the dark, enjoys "space" things and has been on coasters before, then why not?

No WAYY too young. I don believe they will let them on. The child might also get scared. They dont let them on Indiana Jones, so I dont think they will let themon that ride.

I was exactly 4 when I went on Space Mountain for the first time and I was scared speechless. Quite literally. I still remember not being able to speak and cresting a hill near the end and forcing out "are....we....almost....done?" to my dad. I didn't want to ride any fast rides or roller coasters again until I was 20. So, in my opinion, it is probably best to wait a few more years.

It all depends. If your kid is ok with the hights and speed. Sure let them. it should be ok for him and real fun for him to. You can always take the people movers and take a look inside before riding. Hope this helps.

i would say so. one violent ride :-P. adults struggle with that one hehe but its up to the child right? just dont let them eat for about 10 hours before :-P
