Trying to remember the name of a show.?

Okay I don't remember the name of the show or the exact plot but I'll give you what I remember. Just trying to get the name.
I know it shown on WB36 a few years ago. And it was animated.
It was about a boy that lived with his mother. About senior-ish in high school. The show had alot to do with aliens. I remember him meeting this older man that kept this alien creature as a pet and he shown him some of the alien technology, which included a motorcycle he controlled by using his hand on the glowing sphere on the bike.
I also remember the last bit at the end of the series. The boy is in some sort of space craft and he gets a transmission from his father and the show kinda ends from there. I don't know if they continued it or not.
If anyone know the name of it I would really like to know.

Not too sure of the word alien is the best term to use but I don't really know what they called themselves in the series.
