Is the prologue to my story good?

The entire continent of Rissen was once inhabited with creatures of many abilities. Known as Wiens, they roamed the land, searching for food and building habitats throughout it鈥檚 vast space. Big, bony creatures, they lived in high elevated areas, including mountains and high valleys. They were savage beasts, but not their minds. They loved one another, got along together, hunted in packs, and repopulated the land. They were the dominant and protecting species over the land.
Another race, the Fahnas, prospered as well. They were moderate sized bearlike creatures that liked hunting and living in large populations. Living mostly on fish and rodents, they also called Rissen their home. They never interfered much with the Wiens, but the two races respected each other鈥檚 space. The Fahnas were probably the most loving of all the races.
But when the Scruten race found that they weren鈥檛 the only species living, they rebelled. Not rebellion against actions of another, but vowing to rebel and destroy the other races that lived. They not only wanted to eliminate all but their own, but they also wanted everything for themselves. They ravaged anything that worked against them.
With the world technology dawning on the world鈥檚 races, new devices were created from some of the most simplistic but yet, greatest minds that ever existed. The Fahnas were the first to accomplish this, and, as time grew on, began to use them effectively. At first creation, these devices were used only for the sole purpose of hunting or to help their own kind in times of peril. When an assembled Scruten army ravaged a village of humble Fahnas, the Fahna leader was most displeased. In less than a month, he had assembled five hundred warriors to go into battle. Using small wooden weapons, they marched off. When they met the Scruten army some ways off, they were crushed. Dark, black Scrutens, known as Scrutiiens, patrolled the land. Fear spread all over the land of the Scrutiiens. The Fahnas called to the Wiens, but they never came. In months, the Fahna race was in fear of being wiped out. Lots of its population hid underground, in caverns, hiding away of the dark evil sweeping Rissen.
And that鈥檚 when everything changed. The most intelligent race of them all entered their land. They were called the humans. Marching off from a faraway continent or piece of land, they wandered into new territory. They made their camps throughout bliss valley, which lingered on the very east section of Rissen, right before the big river that separated it.
After lots of exploring and scouting, they learned that there were races in the new territory that already called the land their home.
When they learned of the Fahnas predicament, they helped their cause. With sticks and spears, they helped fight the Scrutiiens. Most injuries inflicted on the humans were only small bruises and wounds. With their best weapon, the sword, they took mass numbers of Scrutens, therefore ending the war between the Fahnas and the Scrutens.
When this turn of events took place, the Fahnas were given the strength to fight off any remaining hostile Scrutens in the area.
The humans made friends with the Fahnas and helped them regain their strength. Within time, more humans were making their way into Rissen, as part of an expansion that was taking place. Hundreds of thousands were beginning to make their new life in this new land.
Rissen had fallen into the fate of manifest destiny. Man had bonded with the Fahnas. The bearlike race learned new techniques from the humans, building their own structures and making life along with Rissen鈥檚 newcomers.
The humans had won a new territory. And so a new continent was born. History had taken another turn for the good.

It not a good start but needs some work. Look at your fantasy books. How do they usually begin?

They tend to introduce the main character, or another character, first then do the background.

You could introduce one character and a bit of his circumstances. And then have him or her explain the background. Also, I would change the name Weins, the first time I glanced at it I thought it said weiners. Its a little too close.
