Any fans of the band 'Gong'?

...What were some of your favorite albums?
For me, these guys epitomized early 70's stoner rock...I still spin their albums from time to time...great memories of daze gone by!

"The Flying Tea-Pot" trilogy,especially 'Angel's Egg'..".it's a hassle you know to make a rocket-ship go to infinity.." Those pothead pixies steal garden gnomes you know.I also like "Shamal"..great music,a lot tighter and a great cover..the desert sands..."Why is the pussy in the well?Must have been a cat that fell."--'The Cat in Clark's Shoes'. I'm also a big fan of Steve Hillage.."Green" and "L"..those guitar solos on 'Hurdy Gurdy Man' and 'It's All Too Much" are 11-worthy.Another forgotten guitarist..ahh well.You know how it goes... *EDIT*..I don't believe it ,they censored another word for kitty-cat? WTF? I'm gonna write to Didier Malherbe!*EDIT* Smiley,I think I told you I saw him in town one day,looked like he was living up in the hills...The oldest hippie I have ever seen..grey,grey hair in a braided ponytail,bare feet,dilly-bag,freak clothes..the lot..he looked pissed off or lost so I didn't bother him.Yow! *EDIT* Just found a CD rummaging through the boxes.."In Search of Syd"..Gong is represented by '5 and 20 Schoolgirls' from "Magick Brother"..it's a 15 song compilation devoted to Syd..Soft Machine,Hawkwind,FZ,Kevin Ayers,Bonzos,Pink Anderson,Blind Boy Fuller&Floyd Council,Acid Mothers Temple,AMM,Flaming Lips and others.Enough already!OK.

I've never heard of these guys before, so this was my first time hearing them.

The songs were very cool, but I think I was a little too sober to watch the clips. :)

Haha Daze gone by....
It reminds me of a good friend of mine in Germany called Jeff. He was a good young man, from a very poor family and was the only real hippie of the school. He was also older than we were and this was one of his fave bands. I remember him talking about radio gnome stuff all the time, but I can't recall the songs. He walked around with their albums and King Crimson.

I think they are very special.
