I just signed up - No contacts - How Do I Get Contacts?

I just signed up for messenger. I have no contacts, How do I get contacts? Is there a special global search? Should I uninstall until I meet enough people to warrant reinstalling messenger again?

With its current settings/configuration messenger appears to be a waste of time and hard drive space usage.

If you have friends with Yahoo messenger and know their Yahoo i.d. or email address you can add them. Cliick on the + sign along the second from the top line of the messenger window and follow the instructions. If your friends don't have Yahoo messenger let them know and ask them to download it. You might also join a Yahoo group where you will find people with a common interest who might be interested in chatting with you.

You can also find friends in yahoo chat rooms.
