Meeting boyfriend after a 3 month break?

My boyfriend asked me for "some space" 3 mnths ago following the death of his father. The previous yr had been very difficult for him whilst his dad was very ill & he was his carer.
Since he asked for space the few meetings/ conversations we have had have been difficult as I really miss & love him & want him back.
We are meeting this weekend & I dont really know what to expect or even how to act. My son (but not my boyfriends son) is going to be there so its not going to be "a talk".
Any advice on how I should be around him? Its difficult cuz I really want to get things back on but realise its prob a slow burn thing.

my hubby and I have just had a 2 week break, strangely enough just after his step father had died....it made him re think his life and suring our break I realised where I went wrong. We met up after a week to discuss things and I would strongly advise you find someone to look after your son as you will not be able to talk properly with your son there, I had someone look after my kids while we talked. The best thing you can o is think where it went wrong and how you can both rectify this. You also need to be the strong, confident, individual he first fell in love with....that will make him look at you in a different light. However, maybe its not meant to be and if so then PLEASE do not punish yourself, but get out there and enjoy your life again, meet new people and you will fall in love again....i promise you this. I feel for you I really do cos I've been in the same boat. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope it all works out for you I really do x x x

You should meet one-on-one, not with the kids around. You need to talk. Don't try to do a social visit before both of you understand where you are and where you are going.

Hmmmm, tough spot. I would say meet with him without your son to lay the ground rules. This way there are no surprises at the meeting.

Just act normal. Haha, isn't that a ridiculous statement? How could you in that situation. No, you should act calm, interested, but not desperate. If he has reservations about getting back together, you not being overzealous about it might actually work to your advantage. Even if you feel desperate (and that's normal), don't let him see it (at first, or in front of your son).
