Is My Space Wrong?

I have two bothers and they both have my space account and they keep telling me to get one.and I kinda want one but my bf will not be happy and he thinks that it will mess up the computer and get lots of spam Etc. and thats how people meet each other and cheat.help

My husband and I both have myspace accounts. It's not just for kids. Lots of families stay in touch that way especially if they are all over the place. We have access to each other's accounts, so it's no big deal.

Just don't click on any ads and get a toolbar with a popup blocker, most likely the Google Toolbar and you'll be fine. MySpace doesn't do much adware, but if you're still concerned, get Ad-Aware. It's a spyware/malware/adware firewall.

Aside from that, MySpace doesn't do spam. It won't do anything to your computer.

And I agree with Sabrina, I think he's being a little paranoid.

Myspace is lame. Not worth ur time. Get a facebook! it's SO much better and more secure. Myspace has so much spam now. it's no good. don't get started with it. not worth it at all!

From what I understand, myspace is for kids (and pretty silly). But if your boyfriend thinks you're going to cheat via myspace, that's pretty silly too. I'd stay off of myspace, but I'd talk to you boyfriend if I were you, too. He obviously has trust/control issues.

It sounds like he's feeling a little insecure. He shouldn't have anything to worry about! Myspace is just a social networking tool and even though people do hook up based from meeting on the site I'm sure people just as easily cheat with or without it. I log on every day and it usually never spams my computer as the website owners constantly combat it. So give it a shot! Just know that it loses its novelty after about 10 months when you've found every frined you've had in your life and yearn to actually talk to people face to face.

you can keep your profile on private so only your friends can see it. tell your bf to start one too! it is a good way to keep in touch with people.

i have a myspace and i dont recieve spam. some poeple meet and cheat but your relationship sould have enough trust in it to reassure one another that they will stay faithful.

i have a gf to , she doesnt like myspace much but she made one cause one of her friends begged her too. I had one too and she was kinda sad that i might cheat .cause i had a lot of girls in it..so i deleted mine , and she deleted hers too ! we are moe happy now, even if we won;t cheat there is a feeling there that something might happend and sometimes it hurts to think about it ! if u bf doesnt want u to have one ..don't make one ! that is my advice !

It sounds to me that your bf is more concern about the second part of your question regarding the cheating etc. and not the spam stuff. Try suggesting that he gets a myspace account along with you. That way you both can share in the fun.
