How did space come into being??

I met an athiest yday and we argued about the existence/ non existence of god... iam not very religious but not completely an athiest..... as he said everything has a evolution.... and no god created this... was just wondering..... how space came into being??how all this got started??what is that one super power that got all this started.....

It all began about 13.5 billion years ago when a point of energy appeared, it was called a singularity, it contained no matter and there was no gravity, but it was intensely hot, when it cooled to a certain point the first subatomic particles came into being, at this instant, time and space were also created, and space began to expand at a rapid rate because of the heat, everything that exists today evolved from that time.

Big Bang Theory--all sorts of stuff about how there was a singularity (something with a size of 0 and an infinite mass) and at time t=0, and the temperature of the universe was [some big number] of degrees (Although they usually measure temperatures around the universe in Kelvins). Then within the first [really really small number, something x 10^thirty something] seconds, the elements were made.

It's interesting to read, and apparently someone did some theoretical calculations which someone else experimented on and it fit perfectly with the theoretical stuff. (http://xkcd.com/store/ -- Look for the shirt that says "Science works, bitches.")

No one knows. Our science does not (yet) work with anything that happened before the Big Bang (assuming that this theory is correct)

Note that just because our science can't explain it doesn't mean that religion is therefore correct. There are some people who will claim this. Of course, this paragraph shouldn't be taken to mean that religion is wrong. As I said... no one knows

The short answer? We do not know. The long? One of our main theories at this point is the Big Bang theory. It is a widely accepted thought and depicts the universe starting from a single point, or a "singularity". Something caused that point to "explode" and expand at a very rapid pace. The heat at that point was unimaginable, but as the space expanded the universe began to cool and the first elements were created. These are the basics to the start of life. We are not certain of whether this was a result of God's will or not. However, the way in which the universe works is very complicated, and even a slight shift in conditions would cause us as a whole to fall apart. This reinforces the belief in God, because such phenomena is incredible to have happened by itself.

That's a very super-critical question, and difficult to answer. Scientists can almost determine practically everything about the universe, such as the approximate size of it, the rate of its expansion, and its past and future.
Scientists postulate that the universe began from a phenomenon known as the Big Bang, in which (very simply) all the matter in the universe was compressed into a tiny point, then a fantastic explosion occurred where all this "matter" expanded, into what exists today. However, where the initial "matter" came from is something very tedious to comprehend - certainly worth a Nobel Prize if someone can hypothesize something, and prove it.
How space came into being is probably a question even more difficult to answer! Scientists generally accept the fact that space is infinitely nothing, i.e., it never ends and nothing is in it. It is easy to live with this, as a massive "concrete wall" that marks the end of space can not exist.
Therefore, we can probably assume that space was just an empty, black, never-ending presence, which has always existed. Where the universe came from, and what it was derived from (what came before it) seems to be a "possible" but incredibly difficult question to answer.

Take a step outside of being human for just a moment... The humans (over there) are taught from their first words that everything that can be named must have a beginning and an ending. They can't see any other alternative.
For example, it is the simplest logic in Physics to state that matter without time is - matter! In order for energy to act upon it, time is required. The humans (over there) don't learn about matter that way, so it is hard for them to grasp.
They also learn from the same system that there must be a beginning of space. BUT, if matter has always existed (see above), then space must have always been here too.
There is no beginning to space and no beginning to matter. Time becomes the big question.
The Judeo-Christian-Islamic Old Testament states that the universe was without form - not that it wasn't there. Even the Big Bang Theory only recycles matter and energy, and not creates it.
I choose:
C. There was no beginning, and there has always been the same amount of matter/energy in the universe. Physics proves it in a new way almost daily.

And God said, "Let there be light," and the Big Bang happened.

God said "Let there be light . . ."
Genesis

Space is the one thing which cannot be created, as that exists always. This is what Buddha called as Soonya. He didn't say that to be God either. There is no boundary for the space. The greatness of the human being lies in seeing the space in him, that occurs only when the mind stops.Through meditation we can achieve it.This is what is nirvana, liberation from the mind, self realization. The Big-Bang happened only in the space.Space is the cause of the Big -Bang. Dont think that it has nothing. It is something which has every thing inherent. It has Force & Consciousness as it's quality. From this emerged the Universe.Space is Almighty,Omniscient,Omnipotent.Just a deep thinking will help you to understand it.

Maybe the universe is a scientific experiment that went good or bad by a much, much, much higher form of life.
Please don't ask where they came from cause I don't know.

Some are the things ... that are never created and are never destroyed...

Like us... our bodies can detroy but the soul never... and God is super soul... our father...

This is the law of nature...

This can be understood easily when we Love God with our emotions...

Give it a try ...

Regards,

Simran..
