Question about giving your partner space??

If a guy says they want more space are they looking to leave or do they really want space... to be with friends and whatever.?? I moved to live with my bf so i have no friends here, I'm either out by myself when he's not around, and NO he doesn't invite me when he goes out with his friends (im not saying he has to do it all the time just 1 time is fine), the fair is in town and we're gonna go but he doesn't seem to excited about going with me (maybe its just me or he's really not excited) I just feel a little rejected and unappreciated, its not just that, but some of his friends dont even KNOW he has a gf.. especialy if he meets girls he doesn't tell them he does (well i now for sure he told one girl he USED to be in one when he actually IS.right now.. with me..) but I dunno. :(
just in case you want to know we been together for 1year and a half. And he tells his friends "you don't want a girlfriend, man they're just like having a 2nd job" and "/heshe's married? Sucks for her/him.

What do I do? Don't tell me to talk to him about it we already have. I'm just gonna give him space and find myself things to do while he's having his. Do we need to just split up (I move out) or what? I dunno whats going on, and trying to get thru his head is just difficult. Maybe i'm just freaking out.

Youre with a guy who is basically hiding you and doesnt appreciate you at all. I think hes using you. You can do way better. He is an @$$ to you.
Move back where your real friends are. Dump the loser.

The only thing I can suggest is maybe letting him read this so that he can see it from your perspective. It seems like he only cares about himself though. (You may not want to let him read that though. :P)

Moving in with someone can be smothering if you aren't ready(seeing the same person every day, day after day), but that doesn't sound like his problem. The key: he hasn't been introducing you to people. A guy who just needs "space" will still introduce you to people and encourage you to hang out with the group. He wants to find another sleeping partner before he ditches you. Sorry. :-(

sorry to say it but he it totaly cheating on you. why else would he not want anyone to know about you. move out, leave him and never look back.

I heard that before. I don't believe in giving him space. It's either we quit today or stay together. He is just looking for a next willing victim and when he did find another girl..he will break up with you. Believe me darling.

I promise I have been there Ive done this and unfortunately nothing good came out of it for me. You are in a position to be fully controlled by you BF. Listen all I have to say is go back home. The temperary pain you will feel is nothing compared to the long term agony you will suffer if you do not get out of that situation. Seriously I got a kid and marriage that is not yet resolved. Since you are questioning the relationship, run now before you enter deeper in hell. The sex, the companionship, what ever it is its not worth it. I think you answered your own question in your "additional comments." It sounds to me like he's not comfortable with all this togetherness. If you start to develop your own interests, you won't feel so needy (and I don't mean "needy" is necessarily a bad thing).

But you have to find other interests. You might be surprised to discover that he grows closer to you when he realizes you have a life of your own. Please find other interests, and you will begin your emotional healing. Because right now it seems you are too emotionally attached to him. Do it to save your own sanity - and it just might save your relationship, too. And if it doesn't help things with your current relationship, then it's quite possible that this relationship wasn't meant to be.

But please don't underestimate yourself, don't sell yourself short, and don't let your boyfriend be the be-all-and-end-all of your life. Good luck!

In relationships that I have been in, when I ask for space it means that I am not happy with my partner and am looking to fill what is missing. When a relationhsip is solid asking for space is not necessary.

Yes men do want there space. Sorry you are going through this. The best thing to do is if you have a car find some place to hang out at and find you so friends dont go looking just hang out at a spot you enjoy and then you will attract them. If he sees that you have a life he will pay more attention and want to know your where abouts. Dont leave him that's not the right thing to do. We all have problems you have to find the best way to work them out.Keep trying dont give up eventually he is gonna want to sit and talk. Good luck!!
