What is your opinion on My Space.com?

I have a my space and personally think that girls are getting assautlted because they are stupid they arrange to meet a guy they dont even know what is your opinion

I agree with enaz its not my spaces fault I also agree with the guy who wont let his kids have one better safe than sorry please keep answering

Myspace is a great way for people to reach other people all over the world. The problem is that EVERYONE can look in on your own little personal world that you display on your page. Children younger than 16 with a myspace account are automatically private, so that girls that are not yet smart enough to know about internet predators are not taken advantage of. The other people that DO get taken advantage of are those that think that meeting complete strangers is a proper thing to do. Myspace is just a site for people to mingle, like a coffee shop with headlines. If a predator comes into the coffee shop strikes up a conversation with the girl and invites her somewhere private, you can't blame the coffee shop. It's best to teach the kids about these kinds of things, because that is the only way to gaurantee that they won't meet with someone.

I think it can be both good and bad. As far as younger teens using it, I think it is bad, especially because they think that people that they don't know are "real" friends, and not potentially violent/perverted/sex offenders. As an adult, I think it is good, because you can keep up with high school and college friends. There is a great possibility to meet upstanding/non-criminal/predatory people, but users REALLY need to err on the side of caution, and if anything seems amiss stay away from it.

It's just another Internet fad. Anything that allows idiotic teenagers to sign up and express his or her own "thoughts" automatically equals two things: 1.) pedophiles and 2.) media attention.

I think Myspace is great for keeping in touch with distant friends and finding new music and musicians. I agree that these stupid kids give up too much info which is why they are getting hurt. It's not Myspace's fault, this has been happening ever since the early days of AOL and their chat programs.

Personally, I think that Myspace is completely stupid, as is all the press it's getting. It's giving a bad name to meeting people off the internet--not everyone out there is a psycho. If I hadn't met my boyfriend off the internet, not only would I not know the most important person in my life, but I would be miserable, too. Because of Myspace and the attacks going on, every time I tell someone that I met my lover on the internet, people freak out on me. It's ridiculous and Myspace is just making it worse.

Besides, Myspace just sucks.

I won't let my kids be on there. I had a friend of my daughter come over and she logged onto there and I knew within the first few minutes that that was a dangerous thing. It wasn't even a week later that the news started running stories about all the problems associated with the site, and how a girl in our area had been raped. They also tracked down several youth and showed up on their doorsteps and showed them how they were able to track them down by the info that they had posted. It's not a good thing at all.

i like myspace. its fun. i dont have all my information on it at all but i'm sure you could still prolly find me. :)
