Flying with my 14 month old, limited space?

We are traveling to Key West to visit my grandparents (who have never even met my hubby because they cannot travel), and we are bring our 14 month old. I am so afriad of forgetting something, and more afraid of flying with my son. Anyone know what the flight/plane will be like to Key West? I know it is a small plane and we are limited to one bag per person to be checked and one bag per person for carry on. Any advice???

How long is the flight? Don't worry about the bag. Get a biggesh backpack and remember that the stroller and car seat wont count against your baggage allowence.

I'm big into putting everything in plastic. Bring a change of clothes for him and diapers, then put rubber bands around the plastic bags to save space. Don't bring a purse, just a small bag with your wallet, tickets, etc. which is easier to keep your eye on, especially when your attention is more focused on your child. Something small around your neck or waist will not be counted as a carry-on.

Don't worry about the new restrictions. Bring what you want and if security isn't happy, just toss it. Be sure to have an empty sippy cup (or one you empty before security) to prevent spills. The F/A's are happy to fill those instead of normal cups.

Make a check list. Call the airline in question. Normally the airline is understanding and will help make your flight as less stressful as possible. Remember to have fun.

Keep your child in your lap because they are young enough or if you get tired bring a car seat and put him in it and put him in the seat next to you. Good Luck.
