I have a question about My Space?

I know alot of people go on there to chat with their friends and that's great, but why in the world do people use it to cheat? There are people who are married or in relationships who make separate pages to meet people, using different names. What's the point of that? Someone is going to catch you eventually!

The myspace cheating is no different than any other cheating. Usually it's not the cheating that is the problem in a relationship, the cheating is usually just a product of other problems in the marriage or relationship. And for some people cheating is a compulsive problem.
Sometimes people want to be caught, kind of like a cry for help. While others think they are so smart they will never be caught.
Most usually are caught, sometimes a partner knows or thinks they know but ignores the behavior either because of denial or because they are afraid to end it.
Whatever the reason cheating is wrong in my book. To me if you want to be with someone else or play the field then end the relationship or marriage first. But not everyone sees it this way.

I can't answer this, but I totally agree with you! seems kinda silly to me!

It's a quick escape from their troubled marriages. A lot of people with malfunctioning consciences that do that don't see it as cheating because their not physically meeting these people...yet. Myspace is a cheap easy way to find a new partner. More than a handful of people on there are lonely skanks or sleaze balls anyway. :-/

I know my mom just found my stepfather cheating on her through my space. These things just happen. Do not make the same mistake that my mother had mad and not saying anything. If he sees that you will take him back or not say anything for doing this, then he will make it seem like it is OK to do things like this. Men are odd. Can't live with them can't... yea that's about it.

i agree, its not right honest or fair... and dangerous in these times of std's it's foolish.

i believe in a word the reason why its done is "selfish" and being a PIG (Problem with Immediate Gratification) lots of people want sex brought on from lust... and not love.

? does our society support lust/sex/free love/?? more than "traditional values" marriage, commitment, trust,respect

Your best bet is not to worry what other people are doing unless it is bothering you personally. If your friends are doing this then they need to take a reality check and deal with their issues. Everybody is grown adults and if they are on here for other issues like your stating then that is between your friends and their spouse. I don't agree with people who do this type of activity but they are only hurting themselves.

Your question is really 'why do people cheat?' My Space is no different than using other resources at our finger tips to cheat.

They are dissatisfied with their home life or present relationships and want to meet other people to satisfy their need to feel unencumbered and good about themselves. I don't agree with it but that seems to be the excuse often given.
