Did Prophet Muhammed fly a winged Horse when he met God?

I have heard that during Miraj Prophet Muhammed flew in a winged horse named 'Borak' to meet God. According to science there is no wind in space. Why would the Prophet need a winged horse? Is there any description of the 'Borak' in Hadith?

My second question is He rode his journey from Masjidul Al Aksa in Jerusalem. It is a holy mosque. I heard that was built 50 years after the death of the Prophet?

Muhammed did indeed fly a winged Horse named Buraq, according to the story. I don't really know why Muhammed would need a winged Horse. I'm sorry...I'm not that well versed in Islam. There are alot of things in Holy books that defy the limitations of science. The very concept of a winged horse defies science, so either you believe it, or you dismiss it, I suppose.

The Al-Aqsua mosque means "the furthest mosque" and is located in east Jerusalem. Muhammed made the journey in 621 from the sacred Mosque in Mecca to the al-Masjid al-Aqsa where, according to the story, he ascended to Heaven accompanied by Gabriel. That's why the site of the Mosque is so significant. The construction of the Mosque began toward the end of the seventh century, and Mohammed died around 630, so that would be around forty-fifty years after he died.

Buraque, is the word came out from Barque (electricity), So Buraque means some thing fast moving like electricity.
So waves can travel in space.
There is no resembling thing available to express Buraque, that was brought from Paradise.
Angels have wings, how they travel in space?

hi bro..i think i have the right answer u see no body actually knows BORAK's descreption.the truth is that the Israa was from the sacred house to Masjidul aksa but the Meeraj was from Masjidul aksa to meet God. some say the journey was before the Higraa from Mecca to Habasha(they were christion) about 3 years other say 1 year.and u should know that (Kubbatul sahra)(the mosque with the golden dome) is not Masjidul aksa that we all think,Masjidul aksa was built by Adam after building the holy mosque and it was rebuilt by prophet daved and sulayman..so it was before the journey and u can search yourself in trusted sites..i hope ive been helpful.
