Do you think human beings have the discipline to not interfere with another Aliens world?

In other words, lets say we have the technology to travel across the universe. Then lets say we find intelligent primative life on another planet. Do you believe the right thing to do would be not to interfer and make contact until they create the technology to at least meet us face to face in outer space. Or do you enter their planet and start taking riches and doing whatever you want? ( The usual human behavior )

Not interfering is better than the other
but i do not think it will happen
for when even the so called DEVELOPED countries like USA and USSR are trying to grab whatever they can from other poor countries today can we exept them to not to interfere
And the 1st thing that'll happen is scientists will take them as samples of their experiments

I wouldn't be hopeful. Today governments have no quams about doing it to members of there own species what hope do aliens have?

Human behavior is curiosity of the unknown. I would bet we would interfere with an alien culture. Look what what we did already, our country sent a sort of ship into space with greetings in all languages to any planet that might be inhabited and invited them to earth. Now, when someone sees a UFO, what do they do??? shoot first and ask questions later. Human behavior also seems to want to destroy anything they don't understand. So yes, we would interfere and probably take "samples" of anything on that planet. They are doing that now too. My personal thoughts are, many planets do visit us, but when they see how we have wars and destroy each other, they refuse to land for fear of their own lives. Just my thought. So go ahead, give me the thumbs down. It's OK, I'm use to it.

since they are 'human being' in their planets, i think we should act them like ourselves..
i think as far as we can do is try to contact them and make sure that they know about us, at least they know somebody contact them from outer space, so they will try to create something to meet us.
well, maybe if they (looks like) want us to go to their planets, we can go there. but.... i think better not, because that will make a chance for human to do baaad things...

Americans probably wont, Americans have changed in the 60's a Change that will weaken Americans for a long time.

For example back in around 1820 or 1830 or even 1840.
The was a Goal Americans wanted to complete called "Manifest Destiny" , the Goal of "Manifest Destiny" was to stretch America all the way out to the Pacific coast. The Indians were settled there and look what happened they threw them out.

But those times with us being tuff country are over, since the hippies came, but by that time Amercians Might get there senses back and conger the planet.

Being in a somewhat cynical mind today, ok - most of the time - I think we'll interefere unless we feel truly threatened by the response.

Our first feelings will be of "entitlement" .. that we humans have the right to muck up extraterrestrial environments without responsibility, in order to advance our "science".

We can't possibly know what the definition is for "life" not-of-this planet. Heck, we still debate what "life" is on Earth! That being the case, we'll likely poke and prod at extra-terrestrial environments until we get a big grin and proclaim "we found life!"

People on this planet, who today might be labeled "tree huggers", will call for taking responsibility, but most will support more poking and proding so that "our" science and commerce can find a "pay off". That is, of course, unless we find out that this life-form can hurt or kill us ... then there may be more who listen to the future "tree huggers", now "alien huggers."

You silly Earthlings continue to amuse us. How do you think you got the technology you have today? We recently gave you the ability to understand nanotechnology. We gave that to you because we know that one day, you will invent a small hydrogen bomb as small as a .22 calibre bullet that can destroy an entire city.

We possessed the technology several earthling million years ago; but have signed an intergalactic treaty stipulating that we would not use it against each other. The treaty does not address giving the technology to primitive life forms such as you Earthlings to commit suicide with it.

Our computer models indicate that one of your 'countries' will use this technology within the next 25 years. When that is done, all we have to do is land and take all your minerals and water.

Assuming "intelligent primitive life" means that no formidable weapons or defense are present, the answer at this time is simply we do not have the discipline. This is not merely a pessimistic view. We only have to look close by to the situation.

Recently, countries have been performing a land grab around the Arctic Ocean. The ice is melting and countries such as Canada, Greenland, and Russia have been "claiming" land under the water. In fact, Russia has recently planted an underwater flag to claim an area the size of Germany and France combined. The USA is following suit. The reason is purely economic - it is believed a quarter of the earth's oil reserve is located under the northern crust.

While not directly associated with your question, this analogy showing human drive for resources is apt. There would have to be a fundamental shift in the collective human consciousness for the answer to change.

We would interfere. We do that now to others we consider less advaced on earth. I believe we are too curios and believe looking at more premitive life can unlock a glimps of our past. We would take advatage of them and thier resouces.

Discretion is the better part of valor. We should study the primitives until it is deemed a proper time to introduce ourselves to them. Remember we are the aliens to them! If we were to force ourselves upon them they may think us to be gods and completely entrust their society to us resulting in their ultimate annihilation. Much in the same way Cortez destroyed the Mayan Empire. I'm a Trekker and I believe the prime directive was directed at this very subject. Though "Star Trek" was sci-fi it incorporated moral values I think all of us could learn.

Me, Id run screaming back home and hide under my bed. I could have my friends feed me leftovers. But, I think most people would start trying to take whatever they can...

I don't think discipline has anything to do with it. We have no reason as of yet to think that not making first contact is a bad idea, because we haven't done it yet! There's no way that we're going to travel all across the universe and NOT make first contact regardless of whether they can fly that far yet or not. The Answer is No.
