How can i find out what version of directx i have on my computer and how big my video card is?

trying to play sim city but it says my system doesn't meet requirements. I know i have enough space on the hard drive and RAM and a fast processor, but i can't find out the other specifications

go to start, then run, then type dxdiag.exe

it will show you your system specs. then go to the display tab to know what your video card is.

Go to Start --> Run and type dxdiag and then click OK. That will give you all the information on your DirectX version. If you go to the Display tab, that will tell you the model and information about your video card.

There is a program called "Everest" Search for the Home Edition, the maker stopped creating new versions, but you can still find it on download sites, it has GREAT information about your computer, and is very simple to navigate! Its Free btw

Go to Start->Run type dxdiag and press enter. This will tell you what version of DirectX has and the specs for your video card.

Hint: I bet it's not working because your card doesn't support the correct Shader Model version, for Sim City, I would guess it's version 2.0

go to your computers hardware and look at properties it will tell you everything you will need.

Go to Start>Run
Then type in:
dxdiag

-Go to Start
-Go to Run
-type in: dxdiag
-your direct x version is on the bottom
-Go to display tab
-your video card information is on top left

you can check your version of directx by goin in the set up of windows .. means if you have set up in C drive by going in c deive than open programmes files than you can check which version you have .. or you can also upgrade it .. i hope so your problem will be solved and you will get the answer whatever your desire is....
