Honest attempt at a fresh start or a long slow break up? After two years (1.5 living together) this is what..

happened. Last week we got in a bad fight on NYE and she said she needed space...This is what she emailed me today after talking a few times this week.

Today we cut loose all the baggage of the past and start new,

There is no security there are no guarantees, there is no future in mind,

Today I met you. Although I know things about you, as you know things about me, neither one of us know if the other is someone we truly want to be with,

We are willing to meet anew (with who we are today) and see if we see anything in each other that is worth pursuing.

There is space for introspection who are you, who am I, what do we want out of life individually

There are no rules, just two people meeting again

There are no fights or things to harp on from the past as there is no past, it's a clean start that won't necessarily lead anywhere.

Our communications are fresh,

What do I do from here?

Sounds like she wants a fresh start. Just live in the momeant and live life to the fullest. Enjoy the time you have together and don't let some silly fight get in the way of what could really be happiness in the end. You think about what she said and do one of two things --go with her ideas and start over new--
Or tell her no there is too much water under the bridge and go separate ways--
She was honest in her feelings and for that I would be appreciating that--My husband and I had a bad year last year and we came to the conclusion that if we were to see a 50th wedding anniversary we needed to let the past go (completely )and move forward--its usually the best thing to do if you really want it to work --first of all the past is history --you cant change it but you do learn from it--not to make the same mistakes again--building a life together is hard work--most people don't see it as a job--and truth be known it is--compromise 100% form both of you --that is what it takes--a union a bond --Good luck in this walk you have ahead of you regardless what direction you choose to take--life is full of mystery
