Is it ok to go on a blind date with someone online that lives in your town? this after chating with them?

I am on my space I have been talking to a gay for about 1 wk and he asked me out. Friday we are meeting for the first time for a trail to see if we like each other enough to go out Saturday on a real date. He seems to be really nice of what I know. He doesn't seem to be a perv or anything like that we just chat about what has gone on that day and we always seem to have and laugh with each other. I know alot of stuff has been going on with people meeting off the web but I'm 22 yrs old and am a mother of two I just want to find the man of my dreams. If I do meet him give me some safe tips and what I should and shouldn't do.. Thank you

I don't see anything wrong with meeting the guy. I figure its as much a risk as meeting him in a bar and then going on a date you still know about as much about him. But to be safe I would suggest you meet him somewhere very public, tell someone where you'll be with whom and what time to expect you back. And be sure to take a cellphone. I hope this helps.

Go somewhere...WELL LIT and HIGHLY POPULATED. Do not give out any personal info that he could hunt you down with (just in case) Yes it is okay..if you are okay with it....Just be very weary. Good luck

i think that it's okay to go on a blind date with someone that you met online. if he seems like a nice guy then you should go for it. if i were you though i would bring pepper spray or some kind of a weapon in my purse just in case he does turn out to be a pervert

I have gone on a few and I'm still alive. I say go but go somewhere big with lots of people. Like a Starbucks or something. Then if it goes well and he wants another date aging somewhere big meet him there for a few of them and see what happens

Make sure your meeting with him is in a very public place, at least the first few dates. There are lots of fun things you can do during the day where there are a lot of people. Depending on how he acts, you can then decide what is next. Just trust your instincts, and be careful. Who know he might just be your kinght in shining armor.

I would say that 1 week is too short a period of time.

Next time, wait for a few more weeks, and talk on the phone a bit more. Some guys are really great, but some of the online guys are online for a reason!

Make sure you go out to a public place when you meet.

I met my girlfriend/future wife online (via craigslist). Just be careful. Bring a phone, leave all his info you can at your place, well lighted/populated area (starbucks, etc.). Just be careful ;).

Go with him, but make sure you tell alot of people where you are going and who you are going with. Go somewhere very public. Be cautious but at the same time enjoy yourself. If you start feeling even the tiniest bit uncomfortable then end the "date".

Any time you go to meet a stranger,you should first contact a friend,and tell them where you are going,who you are going with,and give them as much information on this person as possible;phone number,liscence plate,ect.When I go to meet someone I call my friend and tell him all about it first,and also leave a paper at home with all the information.If people know you do this,they will not be likely to hurt you even if that was their initial intention.You have to think about your safety first BEFORE a companion.You have children who need their parent,and you can`t be too careful.You should be cautious,but not so much so that you cannot enjoy yourself.Just be careful.

don't go because on the news alot of girls get killed by doing that or getting raped on the news once there was these 5 girls that met theses guys ON my space and the met and they where killed
