Did anyone see this ??? Americans killed life on Mars - NASA scientist theorizes?

WASHINGTON -- Two NASA space probes that visited Mars 30 years ago may have stumbled upon alien microbes on the Red Planet and inadvertently killed them, a scientist theorizes in a paper released Sunday.

The problem was the Viking space probes of 1976-77 were looking for the wrong kind of life and didn't recognize it, the researcher said in a paper presented at a meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Seattle.

It is easy to misunderstand this article, which I saw a few hours ago.

I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but I hope you understand that they did not kill ALL life on Mars, just in whatever dirt or dust they scooped up.

There is still only consequential evidence of life on Mars. Nothing that can be proven one way or another. We've still got hope, and we'll be sending people there to check around 2020.

All guesses.
