no its unsafe. I've heard so many bad stories and seen many documentaries in which people get raped etc. its so sad when stuff like that happens.
this partially off topic but i volunteer to help the homeless and about 2 weeks ago a homeless woman got raped she had bruised and broken ribs, was barfing also i don't think the man that raped her wore protection. :(

That was funny! But I have to be talking to the person for awhile and really like him in order for me to consider even meeting a guy from the net. But if I met him and liked him I would date him so what that I met him online. The internet is just another way to meet people.

i probably wouldn't. i have never been in the situation but i don't think i can trust this crazy world anymore. you have no idea who you are meeting and they could seem nice at first and end up being totally mad!!! so no i probably wouldn't...

I have once. It was about 12 years ago, when the internet was just getting started. I met her at the mall and we hung out for a few hours. There was no chemistry whatsoever, so that was that.

I met a few guys in person from online but they didnt go anywhere because they were completely different from their online persona, plus each one of them lied in some way about themselves.

About online dating, that's just sick and lame.
There are a lot of creeps out there :S

I have many times... most lied about themselves and what they were like.

But, I did end up meeting one woman online, we've been together and married years ago.

I live with someone I met online though we had met years ago in our teens, just lost contact.

i wouldnt not trust a person that goes online for dating..i mean come on,if that person would be matur and strong enough to confron reality would go straight to the person he or she is in love with and tell what he or she feels..
i think online dating is a way of hiding who you really are and create a imaginary person,
come on now,i'm sure you have a comunity you can go and socialize,meet new ppl..fall in love..the online dating just doesnt seem right...and beside you'll never get to know the person in real life..how she or he acts in different situations,what past,family,friends he or she has..
Personally,i would never date online..its for my good and i surely wont have any problems with dating a guy in the real life,why would i miss going out with a really nice guy from real life,and believe a liar or a fake guy online?just think about it..
