Do you think Scott McClellan is patriotic?

Former White House press secretary wrote a book that will be available in bookstores this Monday:

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/050...

"Among the most explosive revelations in the 341-page book, titled 鈥淲hat Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington鈥檚 Culture of Deception鈥?(Public Affairs, $27.95):

鈥?McClellan charges that Bush relied on 鈥減ropaganda鈥?to sell the war.

鈥?He says the White House press corps was too easy on the administration during the run-up to the war.

鈥?He admits that some of his own assertions from the briefing room podium turned out to be 鈥渂adly misguided.鈥?

鈥?The longtime Bush loyalist also suggests that two top aides held a secret West Wing meeting to get their story straight about the CIA leak case at a time when federal prosecutors were after them 鈥?and McClellan was continuing to defend them despite mounting evidence they had not given him all the facts."

Is McClellan ( considered a Bush loyalist) a patriot?

he did do something like leave..he RESIGNED and LEFT!

Well he's lying now or he was lying back then. Either way he lied.

McClellan is a person trying to make money by selling a book.

He resigned and left and decided to write a book. Just because it's in print doesn't make it fact. It's an opinion.
A biased one at that seeing as the author benefits monetarily based on the number of copies it sells. I might believe the accusations if McClellan was donating 100% of the profit on this book to charity...Seeing as he isn't, I'm inclined to believe it's inflated BS to sell books. Scandal sells....

By the way....Benedict Arnold was considered a loyalist too...

Patriotic is standing up for truth. He finally is doing that. However in a fascist, authoritarian, militant country, people must think and do as they are told. Isn't that what this current administration is doing. An example is the US military personnel have to do as they are told. They are ordered and bullied and yes even brainwashed if you do your research. Currently the military is telling the troops to vote McCain if they want jobs.

When your a low level player on a big team. and your going
broke and you need money, Write a book about the boss.
works everytime. Dems and libs buy the crap out of it, then
they try and use the stuff against someone not running for
office, Spend that money dems..

As P.T Barnum said... Sucker born everyday,

Talk about propaganda, you have a lot of it there kid. You didn't read the whole story. The editor put trash in his comments that were lies. I don't even know this person but you sure can spin a good lie when you want kid.

Of course all of that is true...he is just trying to salvage his reputation...I saw that man lie over and over as white house press secretary and he knew he was lying...

He claims he didn't know the entire truth but I don't believe him...

Didn't King George say history would be the judge of his presidency? The history books are being written. Neocons don't like the truth.

Too little, too late. He was part of the cabal and he is now cashing in on the knowledge he should have revealed to Federal investigators.

The publisher knows there is a blind left that will buy into

these accusations with no proof to support these claims!

...CHG...

Why did he wait so long to tell the truth....... could it be money????? That's not patriotic. He should have told the truth when it was happening.

if he was so concerned and against what Bush and co. were doing then why did he stick around? why didnt he DO something like leave...... he;s cashing in on the Bush hate tour.

He is now, we need to know these tricks

yes he is. I also believe he wants to make money and fame.

Sure.

As to the rest of your assertions...So what?

Yes! Yes ! Yes !
The truth will set you free, and I am sure Mr. McClellan
is feeling free !

i agree 100% with the first guy....

I know the Republicans will try to make this look like "McCllelan did it for the money..." but any educated, sensible person can see that it goes beyond just money.

This guy was a loyal "Bushie" and still admire the President. I don't think he lied about anything. Everything he said has such strong validity to it and compliments (not contradict) what most Americans already knew about the Bush administration failures, stubbornness, and ignorance to do the "right thing."

When he said that Bush was poorly served by bad advisors, I STRONGLY believe that and I think Bush accepted it KNOWING it was flawed, wronged etc...

Obama 08!!

McClellan is like anyone else who went through Hell and wasn't allowed to talk about it at the time--he needed to let it all out once he was out of the mix. It has nothing to do with selling books or getting back at anyone.

At least a dozen former top level officials in the Bush administration have resigned and then written books about their experiences. (Examples: George Tenant, former CIA official; Richard Clark, former terrorism official; Paul O'Neil, Treasury Secretary) All are amazingly similar in tone to the McClellan book. It's not about lies or grudges; it's about letting the American people know how disastrously and dangerously this country has been run by the Republicans for the past 8 years.
